This is what Connor had to say about the first day of school as we walked home, "First day of school, one drink of water and too much sun." He was exhausted and it was only a half day. He is growing up so quickly. He has a bike lock with a combination that he does by himself. He asks for a half a sandwich because "its faster that way," I am guessing that is so he can go outside to play.
While Connor embarks on all day school, Rich has embarked on an all day M-F and then studying all day Sat. and Sun. nursing program in Birmingham, Alabama. He was accepted to an accelerated nursing program that will have him out with his bachelors in nursing in 15 months. Yikes, what was I thinking by agreeing to this! A hard sacrifice on both ends, but it will be worth it in the end. He is living with his parents (Masayo packs a lunch and snacks for him), who live just outside of Birmingham. Everything worked out perfectly in the end so he could go.
We talk daily and skype so he can see the boys, who dance around and appear in front of the camera from time to time. We already can't wait to see dad just before Christmas.
